What are the types of fiber Attenuators?
Definition of optical fiber attenuator: As a kind of optical passive device, it is used to debug optical power performance in optical communication system, adjust the calibration correction of optical fiber instrument, and optical fiber signal attenuation. As shown in the figure:
2. According to the type of port, it can be divided into the following categories:
1). SC optical fiber attenuator: applied to SC optical fiber interface, it looks very similar to the RJ-45 interface, but the SC interface is flatter, the obvious difference is the inner contact, if it is 8 thin copper contacts , It is the RJ-45 interface, if it is a copper column, it is the SC fiber interface. As shown in the figure:
2). LC optical fiber attenuator: It is applied to LC optical fiber interface and connected to the connector of SFP module. It is made of modular jack (RJ) latch mechanism that is easy to operate. (Routers are commonly used) as shown in the figure:
3). FC optical fiber attenuator: applied to FC optical fiber interface, the external strengthening method is a metal sleeve, and the fastening method is a turnbuckle. Generally used on the ODF side (most used on the distribution frame). As shown in the figure:
4). ST optical fiber attenuator: applied to ST optical fiber interface, commonly used in optical fiber distribution frame, the shell is round, and the fastening method is turnbuckle. (For 10Base-F connection, the connector is usually ST type. It is often used in optical fiber distribution frame), as shown in the figure:
